Pulau Ketam -- An island of tranquil and serenity certainly is an eye-opener to me and indeed worth the trip to visit!!
Hadn't a clue what to expect, I'd enjoyed the fantastic company, food and cool view at Pulua Ketam.
The 3 days 2 nites stay at the only Hotel Sea Lion, was fun-filled. Beneath it all, we get a glimpse of the simple rural life ...
Let me give you all a short history of Pulua Ketam. It literally means, crab island. It is a small island off the Coast of Klang.
FYI, there are only 1000 residents residing on this island, all in floating houses.
You will get to see quite many contrast on this island.
Well, for one, the use of Bright Yellow for the Fire Station incited me to take this picture!!!
As we walked along the boardwalk, I saw the first stray dog and immediately snapped this shot.
The police station was another eye catching piece of architecture.
For those who like fishing, you can contact the locals!!
As for food, you'd be able to taste delicious, instantly and freshly cooked Fried Oysters.
We had also some seafood for lunch. The dishes were acceptable. A pity that the Chilly crabs looked great, plus presentable but the taste was rather bland.
But, you will certainly like the Fishball soup, Seafood Lala, and the fish curry!!
After Lunch, was a leisure walk around the island, as I continued to take more pictures.
The temples and Budhha altar, significantly situated on Pulau Ketam, brought another Chinese atmospheric feel to this island.
As most of the residents are Buddhists, you will see such decorations on the front doors of most houses here!!
Well, you can also sing Karaoke and play pool!! Something we did on the first nite!!
Came the Second day, when we took a 10 min boat ride to Sungei Limau, to attend the dinner event.
As it coincided with the Hungry Ghost Festival, offerings were made.
I thought this was kindda fun, with the sun over my top!!
I felt overwhelmed as I discovered that my friend Chen Chen was in a floral outfit too!!
Isn't she a Ravishing Beauty??
Well, with over 500 guests at this event, Joseph and I obviously enjoyed the great company of friends and new friends!!
The nite ended well on a Happy note and Yum Seng on Stage!!!
So, to all of you who are looking for a different Retreat and Getaway from Singapore, Pulau Ketam is worth the pick!!
Till Then.
God Bless,
Jenny, xxx.
