Bags, Bags, Bags !!!

For most ladies, we seem to have an insatiable thirst to own a variety of bags.
I'd remembered when I was a little kid, having a Barbie Doll was a dream to have. The only doll I had was just an ordinary one, which I was contented with.

As I'd stepped into late teenage, I started buying bags.

And at 21, when I started working as a pianist, I was able to purchase bags of a better quality, though not leather.

If I could remember, I'd bought my first leather handbag, sometime, when I was 24. Since then, my closet was constantly filled with different kinds, colours and shapes of bags.

Well, I ain't materialistic and I don't really go all the way for Branded bags.

I'd received my very first branded bag, at the age of 38. It was a birthday present from Joseph. A nice brown tote bag from Celine, costing S$850/-.

I'd then started using it for teaching purposes. However, I'd guessed I'd overloaded it with too many heavy things like books.

Eventually, the bag went out of shape.

Quite displeased, I took the bag to the shop. After weeks, the Manager told me that the bag could not be repaired.

Well then, I'd continued carrying this bag, since it was still brand new. It was much later that I'd decided to use my old bag.

Year 2013.
That year, I visited the Gucci store at Paragon, while they were having a Sale. There, I saw a beautiful pink handbag.

It was love at first sight.

When I returned to the store with Joseph, few days later, that bag was gone!

A trip to Taiwan with Joseph and his friends, I saw the same bag at Taipei's Airport, just as we were about to return to Singapore. It costs S$1500/- (which was cheaper than the Singapore price of S$1900/-).

Joseph bought it for me, as my birthday present.

Since then, I'd carried this Gucci bag daily. It seems that Gucci Bags are real durable.

Despite the heavy load, it did not go out of shape.

I was happy.

Toscano.
A year passed. I'd been using this Gucci bag since.

Sometimes, I'd felt it rather heavy and bulky. I'd started to look at the bags' section while out shopping. Before using high end branded bags, I'd the love for Toscano bags.

The brand Toscano, was kindda like an upmarket branded good during the 90s.

At that time, Toscano seemed to have a niche market here in Singapore. It is an Itallian brand, with a reputable workmanship and quality.

Now, in the competitive consumers' market, Toscano seems to have penetrated into the mass market. Often during sales, I see their bags going for about S$100/-, after discount.

It was by coincidence, that one day, while shopping at Vivo mall, a beautiful flora Toscano bag caught my eyes.(I have  a love for flora prints)

I was hesitant in buying, since I didn't wish to to overspend.

Also, I didn't want Joseph to pay for it.

Came a month later, at Takashimaya, that the same flora Toscano bag appeared in front of my eyes. After much consideration, I decided to purchase it, so that I could have a smaller, lighter bag. It cost S$150/-.

From that day onwards, I'd alternate using the pink Gucci bag and the flora Toscano one.

Fortune teller.
Four months ago, I was walking around People's Park Complex, and chanced upon a fortune teller.

Out of fun, I'd paid $20/- to have my fortune read.

The man told me that green is my lucky colour and that I should wear jade and amber stone to boost my luck.

That moment, what he'd said about other things in my life was quite exact. However, I took his words with a pinch of salt. I was already wearing a jade bracelet then.

New Bags.
Two weeks ago, as I walked past the shops in Paya Lebar Square, a green sling leather bag caught my attention. As I had always wanted a sling bag, I went into the shop to take a look.
I'd decided to have it. It was $50/-, after discount.

Seemingly, my addiction to splurge on bags sets in.

Few days ago, I had a casual meeting with my friend, Chew, a film production Manager, at Paya Lebar Square.

As I passed by that shop, which I'd purchased the sling bag, another green bag caught my eyes.

I was very hesitant then and told Chew about it, while we stood at the taxi stand, waiting for Joseph, to pick us up, to have lunch together.

"Since you have time now, waiting for Joseph, it could be your calling ..." Chew said to me.

HAHA. I'd $82/- deducted from my bank account, as I made up my mind to get that bag.

Now, I am very contented with these 4 bags and as I am penning this post, I tell myself that I'd refrain from any future indulgence in bags.

Rather, I'd put some cash into a savings endowment plan, with an insurance company, something which I'd been planning to do, for a while.
As I'd looked out of the gate, sitting on the dining table in my living room, bending over to see my adorable Snowy beside my legs, while the lovable Angel resting silently in her bed, I tell myself that Today is gonna be a Beautiful Wednesday for me!!!

Till then.

God Bless,
