I woke up in a dream.
Seated on a chair, enveloped by total darkness, a male voice spoke to me.
"Jenny, don't give up!"
Awakened immediately, I'd pondered what the dream had meant.
That very night, I got an answer.
While I was performing the piece, Arthur's theme, The Best that you can be, I heard melodies ringing in my ears, and I improvised fluently over the ivory keys.
That was the night. And YES, I MADE IT!!!
Since then, I had no books, or piano scores, whatsoever, on the piano, as I'd performed on the white baby grand, in the Lobby of the then, Le Meridien Orchard Hotel, now known as the Concorde Hotel.
That occurred way back in year 2005.
I'd be turning 43 this year, on Sept 28.
I asked myself this time, "Do I still wanna be a Star Performing Artiste?" As I questioned this deeply, on what I'd really want in Life, I got an answer.
Yes, I wanna live a Life with no Regrets!
And Everything must have been destined, a calling for me, as I ventured and walked upon to Follow my Heart, Follow my dream ...
The advancement in technology, the rise of Facebook, made possible the fulfillment of my First Dream in Life, i.e., TO GET IN TOUCH WITH UNCLE ROBERT CHUA.
Uncle Robert Chua is the Boss of Tim Ho Wan and A La Bakery, the very known Wizard and Father of Entertainment, the Founder of TVB live entertainment show, Huan Le Jin Xiao, in Hong Kong.
Uncle Robert Chua is a long lost friend of my dearest Dad, who was known as Printer Chua, during the old days, while Uncle Robert was still here in Singapore, working as an Entertainment Manager at Top Talent Company.
As I recollected the conversation with my Dad, he had told me quite a fair bit about Uncle Robert, and about that one time, when they had sat down and spoke to each other.
And it was that time that my Dad, as he had told me, said to Uncle Robert that, he has great talents, and a person like him should venture abroad instead of being tied up with a small company. My Dad said that Uncle Robert then left Top Talent.
Dad continued his speech and told me that one time, at the Singapore airport, he bumped into Uncle Robert, and he had invited my Dad to go to Hong Kong with him.
My Dad wasn't ready to venture out, as he was the only son in the family. Besides, his printing business, Interline Coporation was doing well.
Well, this all happened sometime in year 1992, when my most beloved brother, Kenny, departed this life due to a tragic motor bike accident, in year 1990. (He was the only son in my family). Besides, I'd experienced two continuous demise of my maternal and paternal Grandmothers in year 1991 and 1992.
It was on one nite, at the Masionatte apartment in Tampines, that my Dad spoke to me about his regrets and his dream to get in touch with Uncle Robert.
I was then 21.
My Dad then passed me a picture of Uncle Robert and him. With that picture, I penned a letter to Uncle Robert, stating the wish to meet him and about my Dad. I sealed the letter in an envelope and placed it in one of the drawers in my closet, waiting for a chance to deliver it to Uncle Robert.
Now through Facebook, I got in touch with Uncle Robert, on the Facebook page of Mr. George Yeo, the ex.politician in Singapore, and added Uncle Robert.
I had also sent him a private message. Immediately, Uncle Robert added me and we spoke on the phone too!!
Boy, was I overwhelmed on that very day, at my student's house, as I spoke to Uncle Robert. Indeed, that was the very Happiest moment of my Life!! I told my dad about it and he was relieved.
This was then followed by a trip to HK, with my hubby, Joseph, especially to meet Uncle Robert, at A La Bakery, and to visit my relatives in HK too.
The happy moments, upon seeing Uncle Robert, dressed impeccably, with a jacket, looking savvy and smart, were simply beyond words.
Well, my Dad then finally met Uncle Robert, during a wake, when Uncle Robert's beloved Father, departed this life.
Recently, I got in touch with a Giant Distributor of cosmetics worldwide. I was over the sky, when he replied to me. I had asked him politely if I could get some discounts for La Pairie, a skin care product.
He commented that it would only be possible if I am a Blogger.
Immediately, that sparked off a series of chained reactions, as I googled on how to set up a blog, etc.
Viola, Jennmezzanine928.com was created. ( I then changed it to Jennychua928.com, and now to Jennychua928.Blogspot.com)
So, as I penned this first blog, I'd sincerely hope that All of You would visit my blog, and read all future posts, as I relate true life events and stories, certain people crossing my paths, and to promote Music, Arts, Culture, Food, Animals, Love, etc.
