House of Seafood. π Indeed, a reowned restaurant known for its famous & Authentic Chilli crab, here in Singapore. π
It was a great surprise recently, as I'd received a private message on Facebook, from the CEO of House of Seafood, Mr. Francis Ng. I felt an honour as he invited to his restaurant to do a live cooking demo for his Food sauce, & also a Food tasting session. π
Without hesitation, I agreed to it, and I did a live cooking demo session at his restaurant, the very next day. The response was Good. π
Then, I decided to write a blog for him. I learnt more about this humble Man, with a great mind & a good heart. π
Mr. Francis Ng is an epic example of a rags to riches story. Born on 9 October 1972, he came from humble beginnings, from a family of 4 siblings. Despite being poor, at the young age of 9, he began working after school as a dishwasher at various coffee shops and food stalls to avoid being a burden and to help with family expenses. π
After graduating from school, he worked his way through many odd jobs, a labourer, delivery driver, 7-eleven helper, car washer & many more. One day, at the age of 21, he went to the ATM machine to withdraw money. He then discovered that his bank account balance was a mere $7. π Feeling disappointed and disillusioned, he felt like a failure. This incident was a turning point in his life. He then awakened and decided that it was imperative to change his life. π
In 1995, he started his own car trading right from scratch. Despite having encountered many hard knocks as a car salesman, his company prospered due to his acumen in the business and will to succeed. π
As he said, " I was hungered for money. ".π
Came one fateful day that changed his life. His vision had always to help others, to create jobs for older folks and to contribute to society. On 2008, 23 April, he met an old lady collecting cardboard and he offered her $10. She rejected the offer, stating that she was not a beggar. π
This then sparked off an idea in Mr. Francis head, to create a platform for this old lady. He then decided to rent a shop to start a small restaurant business at Yio Chu Kang. ππ₯°
The initial days were zero revenue, till Day 4, when a lady, came by and ordered some food to eat. Never did Francis expect that she was actually a reporter from the Newpaper. Her name is Ms Audrey Poon, and she wrote a good recoonendation article on the papers the very next day. ππ¦π¦
With that, the following days and years, the restaurant was full house everyday. This was the start of his Food business empire, and he expanded his operations and opened more outlets in Singapore. ππ
With absolutely no ecperience in F&B indistry, no help and guidance, House of Seafood was established to fulfill his dream. The road to success was a tumultuous one but never once did his fortitude waver during the course. πππ¦
Moving forward, to further preserve & promote the culinary heritage in Singapore, he came up with an idea that lets customers to enjoy House of seafood famous crabs and sauce at the comforts of their homes by introducing ready to eat chilli crab and Black pepper crab through frozen, vacuum sealed packaging. π
Mr. Francis has also received many awards and had wide media coverage for his Authentic Chilli & Black pepper Crab. π―π―π―
With this, he hopes to bring the House of Seafood Brand and Singapore culinary heritage out of Singapore and to the rest of the world. πππ
His motive in life - Work hard,
Never give up, Never say die.
It was an honour to visit the branch of House of Seafood, situated at 3 Punggol Point, Punggol Settlement. I had great moments visiting here, and took nice pictures around the vicinity. Pets are also allowed outside the restaurant and hence, my Bingo had a wonderful time exploring the new compound. πππππππ¦Ίππ¦Ίππ¦Ί
