My encounter with House of Seafood - Mr. Francis Ng

House of Seafood. πŸ˜‡ Indeed, a reowned restaurant known for its famous &  Authentic Chilli crab, here in Singapore. 😊

It was a great surprise recently, as I'd received a private message on Facebook, from the CEO of House of Seafood, Mr. Francis Ng. I felt an honour as he invited to his restaurant to do a live cooking demo for his Food sauce, & also a Food tasting session. πŸ˜‡

Without hesitation, I agreed to it, and I did a live cooking demo session at his restaurant, the very next day. The response was Good. πŸ˜‰

Then, I decided to write a blog for him. I learnt more about this humble Man, with a great mind & a good heart. πŸ˜‡

Mr. Francis Ng is an epic example of a rags to riches story. Born on 9 October 1972, he came from humble beginnings, from a family of 4 siblings. Despite being poor, at the young age of 9, he began working after school as a dishwasher at various coffee shops and food stalls to avoid being a burden and to help with family expenses. πŸ˜‡

After graduating from school, he worked his way through many odd jobs, a labourer, delivery driver, 7-eleven helper, car washer & many more. One day, at the age of 21, he went to the ATM machine to withdraw money. He then discovered that his bank account balance was a mere $7. πŸ˜‡ Feeling disappointed and disillusioned, he felt like a failure. This incident was a turning point in his life. He then awakened and decided that it was imperative to change his life. 😊

In 1995, he started his own car trading right from scratch. Despite having encountered many hard knocks as a car salesman, his company prospered due to his acumen in the business and will to succeed. πŸ˜‡

As he said, " I was hungered for money. ".😊

Came one fateful day that changed his life. His vision had always to help others, to create jobs for older folks and to contribute to society. On 2008, 23 April, he met an old lady collecting cardboard and he offered her $10. She rejected the offer, stating that she was not a beggar. πŸ˜‡

This then sparked off an idea in Mr. Francis head, to create a platform for this old lady. He then decided to rent a shop to start a small restaurant business at Yio Chu Kang. πŸ˜‡πŸ₯°

The initial days were zero revenue, till Day 4, when a lady, came by and ordered some food to eat. Never did Francis expect that she was actually a reporter from the Newpaper. Her name is Ms Audrey Poon, and she wrote a good recoonendation article on the papers the very next day. πŸ˜‡πŸ¦„πŸ¦„

With that, the following days and years, the restaurant was full house everyday. This was the start of his Food business empire, and he expanded his operations and opened more outlets in Singapore. πŸ˜‡πŸ˜Š

With absolutely no ecperience in F&B indistry, no help and guidance, House of Seafood was established to fulfill his dream. The road to success was a tumultuous one but never once did his fortitude waver during the course. πŸ˜‡πŸ˜ŠπŸ¦„

Moving forward, to further preserve & promote the culinary heritage in Singapore, he came up with an idea that lets customers to enjoy House of seafood famous crabs and sauce at the comforts of their homes by introducing ready to eat chilli crab and Black pepper crab through frozen, vacuum sealed packaging. πŸ˜‡

Mr. Francis has also received many awards and had wide media coverage for his Authentic Chilli & Black pepper Crab. πŸ’―πŸ’―πŸ’―

With this, he hopes to bring the House of Seafood Brand and Singapore culinary heritage out of Singapore and to the rest of the world. πŸ˜ŠπŸ˜‡πŸ˜‡

His motive in life - Work hard,
Never give up, Never say die.

It was an honour to visit the branch of House of Seafood, situated at 3 Punggol Point, Punggol Settlement. I had great moments visiting  here, and took nice pictures around the vicinity. Pets are also allowed outside the restaurant and hence, my Bingo had a wonderful time exploring the new compound. πŸ˜‡πŸ˜‡πŸ˜˜πŸ˜˜πŸ˜˜πŸ•‍πŸ¦ΊπŸ•‍πŸ¦ΊπŸ•‍🦺

There is a wide selection of delicious and affordable meals to be ordered online and delivered right to your doorstep.

Deliciously Yummy Prawn Mee @HUA JI

WOW.

This is the word that I'd uttered upon sipping the prawn mee soup @ Huaji, just last week.

It was by chance that I'd stepped into this restaurant at Esplanade Annexe Building, when I went to the Rock concert of Richie Rotzen last week. I was so hungry then, that I left the show and went to Huaji to taste the prawn noodles.

Subsequently, I got in touch with the Boss, Ken Lau, and he had invited me for a food tasting session just days back.

HUAJI, to many, is a household name for its delicious Prawn mee. Now, the third generation of this Prawn Mee establishment, Ken Lau, took a big step to enter into the niche market and set up this restaurant at Esplanade.

Ken did very well, in his marketing and puts in all his time and energy to be involved in all the operations.

This day, I brought my friend Robin and he was all thumbs up for the prawn mee too!!

Here's what Robin has to say!!

I was so excited and did a video of Ken in his kitchen.

The ambience is nice and cosy. Plus, there is free parking during lunch time.

To me, the price of $12.00 for a small bowl of prawn mee is reasonable. To maintain a high standard in the taste, only fresh Indonesian sea prawns are used and airflown in every day. Succulent and tasty, Huaji Prawn mee has a distinct flavor that is incomparable to what you would eat at a local hawker centre.

For a $20.00 bowl, you get 3 gigantic prawns, to go with the savoury dry prawn mee, the signature dish.

For those who wanna splurge, you can order Sparkling Wine too!

In all. I give a rating of 10/10!!!

So, wait no more!!

Pop down to HUAJI after a show at the Esplanade today!!!

God Bless,

Celebrity, Keagan Kang, indeed!

Talking about Celebrities.

Well, besides Sharon Kwok, Conservationist.Celebrity of AquaMeridian Foundation in HK, another unique, Gorgeous, Interesting Artiste, Whom I'd got to know for a while, who adores Nature, Sea, Sports, Animals, would be Keagan Kang.

As Stylish, Stunning as he is, Keagan strikes to me as an outstanding Actor.

Though, having attained Great Fame, he maintains a humble, pleasant, helpful and cheerful disposition, often liked by his Fans and Audience here.

Then, he became my God.Brother.

And that's why I told myself to pen this blog, so that You can know more about him!!!

Let me start.

Born on 5 May 1976, Keagan grew up in Australia, Perth, when his Parents, both Sinaporeans migrated to Australia in year 1974.

Keagan certainly obtained his Fantastic Looks from Dearest Mum, Ms Alicia Monteirio, and Beloved Dad, Leroy Kang.

His Paternal GrandDad, Mr. Leary Kang, a Teochew from Swatow, was a distinguished Man, who worked as a Top Official at the Public Utilities Board of Singapore, while his Great Grandma was a Chiefton's Daughter

Both his paternal and maternal GrandDads were distinguished Men, who bothed worked for the Public Utitities Board of Singapore. back in those days, whkile his Great Grandma was a Chiefton's Daughter of the Dyak Tribe in Borneo.

Besides, Keagan is also related to the Musical Family of the Monteirio, where his Uncle Freddy Kang plays with the Thunderbirds then, and of course Jazz Maestro Jeremy Monteirio and Diva Claressa Monteirio.

I went on to ask him, why he'd gone into acting. In his words, he said " I was always open, loving and compassionate, very driven and had always wanted to pursue things."

It was a calling, a Passion, he continued,  and also a desire, a need to express, about the power of story telling.

Keagan clearly had a goal in life at a young age. At about 7 years old, he had yearned to be on stage, to do musical. And he did it in Australia and post on Youtube. As he did more, he gathered more experience, and better at it and found a passion for it.

To date, Keagan has been acting for 23 years now.

He is known for his work on Beautiful Boxer (2004), No Through Road (2008) and Burn (2016). In 1996, in Australia, he did a Series called Sweat, and played a gay character called Richard, who is the lover of Heath Ledger. This had gone for one Season.

Anyway, his credits are on ImDb.

In Singapore, he acted with Triple Nine, Under One Roof, and Code of Law, had led to his growing popularity among many Singaporeans here.

Sipping my drink, I asked Keagan his views about life.

He uttered,

"When you find that thing, that you are truly passionate about, and love with the totality of your soul, pusue it. You may fail, or Succeed. But as long as you try, the worst thing to do is to stay idle, sitting on the fence...

Choose a side and go for it. That's Life.

 He ended.

Indeed, well said.

As I end the writing, deep in my heart, I wish Keagan Success, Wealth, Health, Peace and Happiness.

GOD BLESS,

 JENNY, XXX

A Lovely Dinner with Sharon Kwok @ Tim Ho Wan!

It was my dream come true when I'd finally met Sharon Kwok, a Celebrity/Conservationist @ Aquameridian at ADEX 2016, recently at Suntec Convention Centre!

Well, Sharon Kwok is one of my favourite Hong Kong Actress!

When I was about 13, I saw Sharon Kwok on TV, winning Hong Kong Beauty Pageants. Subsequently, I watched her act in the many Hong Kong serial Dramas.

Now, after 30 years, through FB, I came upon Sharon, send her a note and added her.

Since, I followed her on FB, often enjoying reading her interesting posts, and sharing them.

WOW! Seeing her in real person brought huge Sunshine to my heart!

Awesomely Stunning, Naturally Beautiful, Confident and poised,  Sharon is truly a Lady role model!

Let me tell you something about her.

An Artist, actress, a Naturalist at heart, Sharon Kwok is a Eurasian, born in Hong Kong, who grew up in San Francisco. As a Fine Arts artist, Sharon taught arts, as well as held her first exhibition at age 17.

She draws or paints all mediums, sculpts and carves jadeite.

As an actress, she has been featured in over a dozen movies and all Hong Kong TV stations, as well as some abroad. She has also dabbled in music for charitable causes.

Today, Sharon has completely devoted herself to conservation work.

A Director of WildAid and Mission Blue, she founded AquaMeridian Conservation & Education Foundation Hong Kong to contribute to the preservation of biodiversity via revolutionizing conservation in China and other parts of Asia, places where simple changes in Chinese traditions such as consumers' views of wildlife products, or consideration of natural resources would have critical impact.

Her presence on stage at ADEX 2016, exuded great persona and charisma, displaying the qualities of a True Conservationist!

Besides, Joseph and friend, Eddie Oh, were delighted to see her and snap a picture with her!!

With a Loving hubby, four beautiful daughters and a handsome son, Andrew Pong, an aspiring singer, Sharon certainly deserves a fortunate life!

                                                       Catch Andrew Pong on Youtube!!!

What I also like about her is her caring heart! Well, when I'd just met her at ADEX, while she was in the audience seat, I'd told her about my handphone battery going flat.

Then, as I had to leave for a while to attend to another meeting, she, without a word, handed me her power bank and said, "Here, take this with you. You need it."

I was touched.

Subsequently, at Tim Ho Wan, she had carefully selected and ordered those dishes, without pork for me . (I dun consume pork for religious reason), while I had to go to the washroom.

At Tim Ho Wan, we spoke further on her thoughts about Hopes, Dreams and Life.

In her words, she said to me this,

"Dreams evolve as you grow. Sometimes, it changes and evolve to a different one ...

What you'd wanna be when you were 7 years old, certainly wouldn't be the same as that when you are 40 ..., You just learn and Grow."

It was truly a memorable nite with Sharon Kwok! The Great Food, Great Ambience, Great Advice, in a sweet and melodious voice, were all absolutely Fantastik!!!!

LET'S ALL SUPPORT SHARON KWOK IN HER JOURNEY TOWARDS CONSERVATION & WILDLIFE!!

                                                                      GOD BLESS,

                                                                JENNY , XXX XXX
